The Potluck Is Tomorrow
We're looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at the first East Ultimate Awards Potluck. (Suspense and excitement are at a fever pitch as we all wait to see who will win the "Best Backhand" and "Cutest Couple" awards.)
The potluck will be held at 6PM Thursday in the Sage Hospitality Lounge at Johnson & Wales University.
The Johnson & Wales campus is across the street from Denver School of the Arts, on the southwest corner of Montview & Quebec. (Directions to campus) The Sage Hospitality Lounge is on the first floor of the Hospitality College, just off the lobby. The Hospitality College is building number 11 on the campus map.
Despite all the signs to the contrary, we may use the student parking areas.
Thanks to Ellen Hokanson (Brenna & Neal's mom), Kathy Kioussopoulos (Nicole's mom), and Nicole for their work in arranging everything.
Gifts For Our Coaches
We would like to recognize all of the work, dedication, and time Tina & Derek have put into this team and our kids over the last two years. To attempt to repay them would be impossible, but we should express our great gratitude.
As Ellen put it in her e-mail:
The other important part of ending the season is to acknowledge the contributions of the coaches. My husband John and I are parents of three kids who have played a lot of team sports over the years, and we have never seen coaches give the way Gottlieb and Tina have given to these kids. For a couple of young working people with no children of their own on the team and no professional ambitions to be furthered by this, the time and thought and effort and love they have given is just astonishing. Futhermore, their partners . . . have given up a great deal of spouse-time to East Ultimate.
If you intend to contribute but haven't yet (even if you have pledged) please call or e-mail Mark Hughes (W:303-264-3002, H:303-322-6738) as soon possible and let him know the amount. We need this information now, so Nicole can purchase gift certificates tomorrow.
Checks can be made payable to "East Ultimate." You can bring the checks to the potluck BUT PLEASE CALL today.
